Don’t miss this panel if:

  • You are a sports fan
  • You’re involved in Harvard sports, especially hockey, golf, baseball, soccer and rugby
  • Interested in a career in the sports industry, the media and entertainment sector, sports analytics, and the talent & sports agency world

Over $620 billion is spent every year in the global sports industry. According to the consulting firm A.T. Kearney, this industry is growing much faster than overall GDP rates, and its long-term growth prospects remain strong.

More and more Harvard alumni like our panelists below are influencing the world of sports as professional athletes, industry executives, media entrepreneurs, and sports team owners. Our star-studded panel Harvard Asian Alumni *ATHLETES* will explore what the future holds for the sports industry, how technology and other trends are transforming their particular sports, and their role in it.

Our alumni panel will address their career paths from Harvard athlete to what they’re up to now, plus, plus industry topics such as:

  • The impact of Asian-American stars on their respective sports and youth athletics (e.g. golfers Lucy Li and Michelle Wie to Harvard’s pro athletes like Jeremy Lin and Julie Chu, Olympic Ice Hockey star)
  • Team Ownership in the MLB, NBA, NFL, MLS and NHL
  • Sponsorship and athlete contracts
  • How major sports are catering to the Asian-American fan base
  • International expansion strategies to China and India
  • How technology is changing team operations, sponsorship and the fan experience – from sports analytics data and Bitcoin, to webcasting and social media
  • Investing in the sports sector – from film, data and technology
